Existing Industries Thrive In Innovation Valley

Supporting businesses located in East Tennessee comprises a significant portion of the Knoxville Chamber’s regional economic development efforts. The Chamber offers several no- and low-cost programs to help businesses thrive in Knoxville-Oak Ridge Innovation Valley, beginning with a complimentary existing industry visits facilitated by Alex Kleto, manager of existing industries at the Knoxville Chamber.

Educators in the Workplace facilitates discussions on workforce needs among area teachers and local business leaders.

“We have a responsibility to help businesses in this region thrive, and I am eager to connect companies with the programs and agencies who may help promote their growth,” said Kleto. “Many businesses are not aware of the free or low-cost incentives opportunities that can help take their organization to the next level.  My role is to provide a concierge service to ensure businesses have all the tools they need to stay, expand, and prosper in Innovation Valley.”

These one-on-one visits connect existing industries with the resources and partners best suited to support their expansion and growth including:

  • Access to potential capital and incentives
  • Business development programs from regional partners and higher education institutions

    Magnum Venus Products (MVP) utilized regional economic partners and agencies to support their recent Hardin Valley Business Park expansion.

  • Sustainability assistance
  • Workforce development resources

During the 2016-17 fiscal year, 19 existing industries expanded operations in Innovation Valley, representing a total direct and indirect economic impact of 1,830 new jobs and $87 million in new wages secured for the region.
