The Knoxville Chamber held its fourth annual young professional summit on Sept. 5 at The Mill and Mine. The full-day event connects the region’s emerging leaders with opportunities for personal growth, professional development and civic engagement. Sessions covered topics such as diversity, inclusion, financial wellness, philanthropy and servant leadership and offer actionable takeaways for attendees to develop in these areas.
The 2019 keynote address, delivered by Stephen Brown, challenged attendees to pursue their professional passion and employ perseverance, even in the face of seemingly impossible odds.
The chamber focuses on serving area young professionals through events like Endeavor as part of their mission to drive regional economic prosperity.
“Workforce is a deciding factor for companies considering Innovation Valley as a place to relocate or expand,” said Doug Lawyer, vice president of economic development for the Knoxville Chamber. “Young professionals are a key piece of that pipeline. They are the CFOs, CEOs and HR directors of tomorrow, and companies want to know that our region is creating a community where these future leaders want to live.”
